Peter McKay looked pathetic at all of his appearacnes yesterday trying to discredit Richard Colvin’s testamony. In a style typical of the current government, he told us all that this man’s testamony is “ridiculous”. In true Harperite tactical form he attacked the man’s credibility and did nothing to address the concerns raised. In true Harperite form he instead talked about a whole bunch of irrelevant information that just happened to contain the word “Afghanistan”, hoping to confuse. He tried to paint Mr Colvin and anyone who listens to him as unpatriotic.
Mr Colvin is currently Canada’s Senior Intelligence Liason with the United States. Canada’s Senior Intelligence Liason is not credible? He is providing “ridiculous” testimony? Does Mr. McKay really think that Canadians will be satisfied with this answer and will now shut up?
This government has sent a very clear response, “do not criticize us for any reason or we will work hard to discredit you, we will smear you, we will attack you”. Whether you speak the truth or not.
