Let me know what you think. Could this ad be used? Does someone want to produce it themselves?
Very effective. It convinces me that politicians are liars. Makes me wonder why I would even bother voting.
Conservative vote: It will anger the core conservative voters and inspire them to vote conservative again.
Liberal vote: I’m not inspired, no call to action. Yeah I’ll probably vote liberal again, but so what, the liars win anyway, why bother working harder for the party after all, we’re just the same as the conservatives anyway. Neither party has anything positive to say.
The middle and undecided vote: I’m not going to vote conservative because they lie. Vote Liberal? Why? They’re not giving me a reason to vote for them, they’re not telling me anything I don’t already know. I think I just won’t bother to vote.
So, net effect? The conservatives win again.
There is a better way. Positive and inspiring. Optimistic. Hope. It works. And it’s a better way.
You are dead wrong. Like Frank McKenna said, you have to hit them back and hard.
Obviously you have very strong idealist views on this matter, which are of little use to the LPC. When you get your magic wand finished maybe then you can change the world. Harper is a liar and Canadians need to learn this fact about him. He must be held to account for his lying. Attack ads are only one of the tactics used, positive advertising is also important. If you are attacked though and an adversary is defining you for the masses, like Dion and Ignatieff were, you better hit back.
You can put together the “like to buy the world a coke” from the Liberal Party ad if you want, it would be one of the last ads the LPC ever made, before their destruction was complete. Fight back or die.
